Clint Bowyer hasn’t won a race since October 13th, 2012, not taking into account his win in the Sprint Showdown earlier this season. Bowyer just hasn’t found much luck on the track recently and it has him hanging on for dear life i the last spot of the Chase standings.

Besides his 3rd place finish at Sonoma, a track he really likes racing at, Bowyer has only placed in the top 10 five other times this season. That’s part of the reason his points total has taken a hit this season. Another reason has to do with his crew chief situation. He’s had a different crew chief (Billy Scott) three times this season which can cause issues if he’s not used to the way Scott calls races.
Bowyer will have more chances to redeem himself this season but if he continues to hover on the line, he is facing a big risk of falling out of the Chase. He’s either going to need some quality finishes or a win to solidify his spot.
