No more Pit Road Penalties.

Safety is a huge matter in the sport of NASCAR and it should continue to be taken as seriously as possible. With that being said, pit road penalties have been unfairly changing the outcome of races for a while now. It’s understandable that NASCAR would want to put a set of rules and regulations in place in order to discourage drivers and teams from committing unsafe acts that are detrimental to the safety of other drivers and teams, but they are honestly hitting drivers in the wrong place when they penalize them.

Why can’t NASCAR hit the drivers or the teams for that matter in the pocketbook instead?

That way, race outcomes aren’t compromised for something as inconsequential as a speeding penalty on pit road? Start hitting drivers and teams with fines, even suspensions if it has to come down to it, but for god sakes don’t ruin a driver’s day just to make a point about crossing through too many pit boxes or a pit crew member hitting pit road too fast. Doing so is not only unfairly taking competitors out of a race, but hurting fans that want to see their driver win as well.
