September 11th, 2001 will be a day that will never be forgotten for those living in the United States.
For the majority of us, something the likes of 9/11 was something that we had previously only read about in school books or online. Things like 9/11 were things that didn’t happen here. Of course that all changed on the morning of September 11th, 2001 and for those of us who were old enough; we will never forget the moment that we first heard about it or saw it.
In the aftermath of 9/11 the United States came together as a country in an effort to heal and move forward. One of the tools that we used to help with both of those was sports. All of the major sports held special tributes in the weeks and months following that day and they would continue to do so in the following years.
