Good: Changing the All Star race format

The Sprint Cup All-Star Race has been through many changes over the years, but NASCAR might have finally hit the jackpot with their latest plans for the annual May race. While the race will still feature multiple segments, two 50-lap segments and a final segment of 13 laps to be exact, the addition of a mandatory stop in the final segment will definitely add a little intrigue to the star-studded event.

The final segment, which will feature a mandatory draw to determine which drivers will need to make a four tire mandatory pit stop before lining up for the final 13 laps, was said to be Brad Keselowski’s idea and will essentially force drivers to rely on tire strategy and good adjustments to their car to win the top prize. It also might force drivers on older tires to make desperate moves in the pursuit of the million.
