The greatest spectacle in racing may have one of its most wide open races for the Borg-Warner Trophy in history. Here are the top contenders for the Indy 500 crown.

After a month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the crowned jewel of American open wheel racing is just a few days away. Practice has been completed, qualifying has set the spots on the grid, and now all that’s left to do is race in the 100th Indianapolis 500. And this year could be the most wide open yet.

Pairing it down to just ten drivers who could be in contention to win the greatest spectacle in racing is nearly impossible. With so many different teams and drivers showing speed all month long, and some of racing’s more storied teams finding it hard to keep up, there is almost no one you can count out for winning the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. And that’s a good thing, because it sets fans at the track and watching on TV up for a fantastic day.

Here are my top ten contenders to win the 100th Indianapolis 500:

First Four Out:  Alexander Rossi, Mikhail Aleshin, Ed Carpenter, Oriol Servia
