A Race that had it All

The 1975 Indianapolis 500 has proven over the years to be one of the most interesting races at the speedway, because the race had everything in it. From big crashes, to close racing, and even an appearance by Mother Nature herself, this race was certainly memorable in more than one way.

Before the race, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway had the distinct honor of being added to the National Register of Historic Places. Once the race began though, the action was on almost immediately. Many famous names were running in 500-mile show, including Andretti, Johncock, Foyt, and Unser. Another big name in the race was Tom Sneva, who crashed in spectacular fashion past halfway in the race. Of course, the race would not see its conclusion due to rain, but in the end the show was certainly fun to watch.
