Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Nationwide

This commercial just baffles me. Of course drivers, including Dale Jr, have lives outside of NASCAR. It’s not like they just sleep in the race car after it gets pulled into the garage for the night. Unfortunately for all of us, NASCAR and Nationwide insurance doesn’t understand that and wants us to see what Dale Earnhardt Jr is like off the track.

While the commercial could have centered on a business trip he and his colleagues were attending or maybe him  having some fun out in the country with some four wheeler’s both things that fans would love to see Jr doing, fans were instead treated to a day in the life of Jr as a business owner

The commercial includes Jr giving handshakes to his loyal employees, closing deals like a boss and sitting around the water cooler to talk with employees about why some guy named, Steve, hasn’t accepted his friend request yet. Seriously though! Was this the best way to portray Jr? Just sitting there watching him whine about not becoming friends with Steve is enough to make me consider being a Kyle Busch fan. At lest he doesn’t care what some guy named Steve thinks!
