NASCAR: Winners And Losers From Pocono
By Cole Mentzel
The Tricky Triangle gave NASCAR some tricky situations on Monday. Check out a few winners and losers from one of the weirdest race days of 2016.
Anytime NASCAR takes a trip to Pocono Raceway, there’s sure to be some wild moments and crazy outcomes, but I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted what we saw in Monday’s Pennsylvania 400.
Mother Nature was in full force with a combination of fog and rain attacking the speedway throughout the majority of the afternoon.
A few stories formed throughout the course of the day, like pole winner Martin Truex Jr.’s early exit, the battle between young drivers like Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon and Jeff Gordon’s seatbelt mishap. However, it was the final result that caused the most shock.
After the race was called and Chris Buescher had sealed his first career Sprint Cup Series victory, fans enjoyed one of those rare days where the normal contenders are upset by one lucky driver.
No one thought the battle around the Chase bubble could get any more intense than it already is, but Buescher’s win–even though he’s not officially in yet–sure does change things with just five races remaining before the Chase begins.
Take a look at a few winners and losers from Monday.
