Loser: Weekends At Pocono

This weekend wasn’t the first weekend we’ve seen weather impact the racing at Pocono.

In fact, we saw it happen as recently June, when Kurt Busch held off Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott and Kurt Busch in the first Pocono race of the season–one that was postponed until Monday.

This time around, rain was yet again the cause of the race being postponed, but fog also entered the equation, as Turns 1 and 2 completely disappeared at one point, leading to the red flag and the end of the race. And while the fog was one reason why the race was the cancelled, the storm threats ended up being the deciding factor in whether to call the race or not.

Besides maybe Daytona’s July race, it certainly doesn’t feel like there’s a track that has more issues with weather than Pocono. Just remember, if you’re going to a race at Pocono anytime soon, pack clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting wet, because lately, rain has been a normal part of the weekend routine at the track.
