The second NASCAR race at Bristol this season turned out to be a day event after weather played a major role in the start of the race. With the Chase getting closer, here are 5 lessons learned from Bristol.

A night race at Bristol is always exciting. It’s one of NASCAR’s best tracks and racing under the lights can lead to spectacular moments as drivers push themselves to the limit to try and get closer to the top 16 in the standings.

Unfortunately for this season the night race at Bristol was rained out and pushed to Sunday during the day. While the race itself still had plenty of cautions, it lacked the excitement only seen at night.

Still, the race had a fair amount of cautions and saw several drivers wreck as they continue to push themselves to make the Chase cutoff. We saw another race where Joe Gibbs Racing drivers ran well, but did a JGR driver win?

Did drivers and teams pay attention to the weather? Preparing for a night race is one thing, but when it turns into a day race it can completely throw off the build a team is using in their car.

As the Chase continues to get closer here are 5 lessons learned from the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol.
