The Favorite: Joey Logano

Stats at Michigan:

  • Wins: 2
  • Top-5’s: 4
  • Top-10’s: 10
  • Laps Led: 332

Joey Logano already has his spot in the Chase this season but only has one win–something uncharacteristic for him this late in the season.

Luckily, he’s been a threat at Michigan for the past three to four years and has experience taming the high speeds of the track.

Logano had three top-10’s in his first eight races at Michigan but never came close to winning and struggled in 2011 and 2012 with no finishes inside the top-15. However, since then, he’s been on a roll. He has seven straight top-10 finishes including two poles and two wins. Along the way, he’s led laps in six out of seven outings.

His first win came in 2013 as he won the pole and led 51 laps. His second came as recently as this season, as he dominated the day, leading 138 of 200 laps and holding off a charging Chase Elliott during a few key restarts.

With nine top-10’s in the last 11 races this season, the No. 22 team is starting to get into Chase form. Look for another win this weekend. Joey Logano is your favorite heading into Michigan.
