No. 5 Kevin Harvick passes Kyle Busch for the win when coming to the white flag (2006).

In the 2006 Richmond fall race most of the attention was on the fight for the last spots in the Chase. In the final laps while the focus was all on Tony Stewart who was trying to lock himself in on points, Kevin Harvick was running down the leader and dominator of the race Kyle Busch. With four laps to go the gap between the two was gone and as they encountered a group of lapped cars the battle was on.

Busch was able to survive the first attacks and stay in front but with two to go Harvick was able to get alongside of him in turn two. When they came by to take the white flag the lead was finally changing hands for the last time. “The closer” pulled the sweep of the NASCAR weekend for the second time in the 2006 season having won the Busch Series race the previous night.
