To get you ready for the upcoming NASCAR race, every week with our Checkered Countdown series we give you the chance to go back and see the best finishes ever at each track.

Last week at Darlington Martin Truex Jr stole the win from Kevin Harvick who had dominated the event. Harvick blamed the poor performance of his pit crew but he will for sure be back in contention for a win this saturday night at Richmond International Raceway, where he already has three wins. This particular 0.75 D-shaped oval has been on the NASCAR schedule since 1953 but the current configuration was introduced only in 1988. Richard Petty has 13 victories and holds all type of records at this venue.
