NASCAR is set to take on the second race of the Round of 8 at Texas. Which driver will win this week and what else should fans watch for during the race? Here are four predictions for the AAA Texas 500.
Last week at Martinsville it was Jimmie Johnson who ended up in victory lane. Johnson had to battle through car issues as he lost power at one point and he was also shoved out of the way by Denny Hamlin during the race.
Johnson fought through it all and will now get a chance to compete for his seventh Sprint Cup title at Homestead.
We also saw NASCAR mess up the running order during the race when a caution came out during a round of green flag pit stops. It took almost 30 laps for them to get the running order right, but is this something NASCAR fans and drivers need to worry about at Texas too?
Joe Gibbs Racing was trying to get all four drivers in the Chase but they struggled to work together at Martinsville and now there are only three spots left. Will the drivers at JGR still try to work together at Texas or is it every man for themselves?
Texas is a 1.5 mile track and so far the races held of these tracks have been lackluster. With too much green flag racing and one car getting out in front and being able to hold the lead, competition on 1.5 mile tracks in the Chase hasn’t been exciting. Will Texas end up being like all the others or will it prove that there should always be a spot in the Chase for this track?
The race on Sunday is a chance for another Chase driver to join Jimmie Johnson at Homestead. Before the green flag drops though, here are four predictions for the AAA Texas 500.
