Pit Road Will Be The Key To Victory

Phoenix International Raceway is different from the other two tracks in this round of the Chase. It’s not a 1.5 mile track like Texas, yet it’s still bigger than Martinsville.

This low banking track has seen a lot of speed over the course of the Chase, and the pressure of making it into the final round at Homestead has caused drivers to fight it out at Phoenix.

We could see lots of green flag racing on Sunday, but pit road is smaller than the typical 1.5 mile tracks and more similar to the pits at Martinsville.

That’s not the only issue with pits at Phoenix though.

Pit strategy will also play a big role in the race on Sunday as Phoenix could come down to green flag racing at the end and having enough fuel to make it to the end could be key.

Will two tires work on Sunday or will drivers need to get all four tires in order to move to the front?

Cautions have been a factor in several races this season but at Phoenix the key to victory will be in the pits and which ever team has the best pit stop and can get their driver out in front will have the best chance of getting into Victory Lane on Sunday.
