9. The Petty Brothers

Although I wanted to limit this list to drivers only, you cannot deny what Richard and Maurice Petty did as a combo in the sport of NASCAR. Everybody knows of Richard and his 200 career victories but little are aware of what Maurice Petty was able to do behind the scenes for his brother. Maurice was a founder of Petty Enterprises along with Richard and their father Lee. He served as the engine builder for a good part of Richards 200 career victories and was a crew chief as well. Both Richard and Maurice are members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I wanted to limit this list to drivers only but felt it necessary to throw in both Richard and Maurice as they were a big part of Richard’s success on the track so although they were both special talents in this sport that is the reason they are not higher on the list.
