Since the new DW12 chassis was introduced back in 2012, there have been several exciting finishes in Verizon IndyCar Series races. Which races make the top five?

There are so many races, 84 to be exact, that the Verizon IndyCar Series has put on since adopting the new DW12 chassis for the race cars back in 2012. While every race has its exciting moment or moments, and many races come down to the wire, these five finishes have stood above the other 79.

What makes a good finish?

“What makes a good finish” is a broad question, but it can be answered with a few basic thoughts. First of all, you need multiple cars in contention for the win in the closing stages of the race. Secondly, you need these cars to be able to pass each other relatively often and easily. Thirdly, you need the finish to be close. And finally, something unexpected happening at the end can really give the finish a boost.
