Sunday February 26th, 2017 is the official start of the 2017 NASCAR season as the Daytona 500 will be taking place. Be sure that you know all of the important race information; like when it starts, what channel it’s on and where to find live race streams.

The wait for the 2017 NASCAR season is just about over. The Clash at Daytona is in the books and speedweeks has come to an end as Sunday now brings us the Daytona 500. Fans have been waiting since the checkered flag in Miami for the start of the 2017 season and the Daytona 500 is exactly what those fans need. There are plenty of questions and unknowns entering the Daytona 500 and when all is said and done there are sure to still be plenty of things unknown.

The one thing the Daytona 500 will clear up though is who is going to punch their ticket into the playoffs first. Will it be Denny Hamlin or Chase Elliott? Both drivers won their respective duel races and Elliott is starting on the pole for the second year in a row. Will it be Dale Jr. who will be racing in a point’s race for the first time since the middle of last season? Will it be Kyle Busch who is looking for is first win in the Daytona 500? Or will it be one of the rookie drivers that breaks through on Sunday?

Aside from it being the first race of the 2017 NASCAR season, this is also one of the first chances to see the new format truly play out on the track. This is also the first chance this season for a driver to punch their ticket into the playoffs. Although a win right now doesn’t guarantee a driver a spot in the playoffs (there could always be more than 16 winners) it does put them in a good position for the rest of the season as they look to win more races and acquire more playoff points.
