Great Weekend – Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

With two laps to go Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had a shot to win this race. Let me repeat that, with two laps to go, okay you get the idea.

Where the heck did Stenhouse Jr. come from over the second half of this race? Sure, it was not pitting late in the race that put him inside of the top-two with two laps to go but even before that he put himself inside of the top-10. On the run before the final pit stop he was on the track passing cars like Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano, something Stenhouse and the No. 17 team don’t do on a weekly basis.

Yes, this was only one race and yes Stenhouse could easily finish outside of the top-20 next weekend. However, the No. 17 team is finally trending upwards, it began in 2016 and it has carried over into 2017.
