Richmond International Raceway

Career wins: 3

Last three races: 10.6 average finish, 1 top-five and 1 top-ten finish

Earnhardt Jr. won’t have to wait long for this opportunity since Richmond is the first race on the NASCAR schedule following his announcement. He will also get another try for a race win at Richmond in the last race before the playoffs start in September.

Despite having three career wins at Richmond, his last win was in 2006. Statistically, Richmond is Earnhardt Jr.’s third best average finish at all tracks in his career. He has an average finish of 13.24 over the course of 34 races and has 10 top-five and 14 top-ten finishes as well as 501 laps led.

Despite how Earnhardt Jr.’s season has looked through eight races, his 26th race of the year at Richmond might look very different compared to his ninth race of the year at the same exact track. Earnhardt Jr. and his No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports team will need to get the most out of their first race at Richmond in case he still needs a win when they return in the fall.
