NASCAR: Five Predictions for the Go Bowling 400 at Kansas
More Penalties Will Come After Kansas
Aric Almirola and the 43 team were the latest group to receive a major penalty from NASCAR this season.
They were hit with the penalty after the Talladega race and not only were they docked 35 points, but crew chief Drew Blickensderfer was suspended three races and fined $65,000 after the 43 car failed a post-race laser inspection.
This is not the first of this type of penalty a team has suffered so far this season. Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano have all dealt with post-race penalties that saw their crew chiefs suspended.

Logano’s was the harshest, with NASCAR calling his Richmond win “encumbered”, and now Logano will need to win another race if he wants to lock in a position for the playoffs.
Teams are pushing the limit with their cars this season and NASCAR is having none of it. Teams continue to try to do whatever it takes to win, even if it risks a crew chief suspension and points in the standings.
This weekend, before the race has started, teams have already been dealing with issues of pre-race qualifying inspection. Several top team failed to qualify because they didn’t meet NASCAR standards.
And if that’s any indication of what we can expect after the race, Almirola’s penalty last week won’t be the last one we see.
After the Go Bowling 400 is over, don’t be surprised if another NASCAR team gets hit with a penalty as they continue to try to push the limits of the sport.
