Which drivers look good heading into the biggest race of the IndyCar season, the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500?

NOTE: This post is not related to the “Driver Power Rankings” articles released after each IndyCar race.

#33 through #31

AJ Foyt Enterprises, Chevrolet. ZACH VEACH. #33. [Starting Position: 32nd] — Zach Veach was the slowest qualifier and has been struggling mightily all month for one of the slowest teams all month. He even crashed in practice. In his rookie Indy 500, his goal should simply be to finish the race, preferably on the lead lap.. No. 40

Lazier Partners Racing, Chevrolet. BUDDY LAZIER. #32. [Starting Position: 30th] — The 49-year-old Buddy Lazier is driving for an underfunded family-owned team and has always seemed to have problems on race day over the past few seasons. His car is not the slowest of the field for once, but it is still way off the pace of the top drivers.. No. 44

#31. [Starting Position: 29th] — In Spencer Pigot’s lone Indy 500 race, he finished in 25th place. He is driving for Juncos Racing, a team that is making its first IndyCar start in this year’s Indy 500. In addition to being well off the pace so far this month, Pigot was also involved in a crash during practice. He doesn’t appear to have what it takes to contend for the win on race day.. No. 11. Juncos Racing, Chevrolet. SPENCER PIGOT
