The month of June comes to a close, and there is a bit of change in the breeze for the motorsports world. NASCAR and IndyCar are set to enter the second halves of their seasons, while Formula One boils with the growing drama surrounding many of their championship drivers. But this weekend, the stock cars take center stage on the motorsports TV schedule.
NASCAR moves from the rare road course race to the high banks once again. After the Great American Race to start the 2017 campaign, the Cup and Xfinity Series return to Daytona for some night racing ahead of the 4th of July. This also marks the beginning of the NBC Sports portion of the schedule for both series, with coverage to come on NBCSN and NBC.
Elsewhere, the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship has their midway endurance event in northern New York. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen will see the transition of the picturesque finger lakes region from morning to late afternoon with multiple classes on track. Also on the docket this weekend is plenty of two-wheeled action, with MotoGP racing in Germany and AMA Pro Motocross at RedBud.
