Martin Truex Jr. took the pole for the Overton’s 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway despite being the 2nd-fastest qualifier.

In the 19th race of the 2017 season, the race that marks the first race past the halfway point of the season, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will race at the 1-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway oval in Loudon, New Hampshire for the Overton’s 301.

To start the race, Martin Truex Jr. will lead the field from the pole position despite Kyle Larson qualifying on pole for the sixth time this season. Larson qualified on pole, but his car did not pass inspection after qualifying. Because of this, he was shuffled all the way to the back of the field and Truex Jr. slide to the pole position.
