#6 and #5

#6. [Last Race: 6th (-)] — Chase Elliott is still searching for his first career Cup Series victory. In the six races that led up to the New Hampshire race, Elliott had been close to getting that maiden victory, as he finished as high as 2nd place at Michigan. He only finished outside of the top 8 once over the course of those six races, so he was pretty hot coming into New Hampshire. However, he did not perform as well as he could have at New Hampshire and finished in just 11th place to ensure that the hunt for his first career Cup Series victory would continue for at least one more race.. No. 24. Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet. CHASE ELLIOTT

#5. [Last Race: 3rd (-2)] — Kyle Busch looked like he was going to be the driver to deliver Joe Gibbs Racing the team’s first victory of the 2017 season. He won the second stage of the race at New Hampshire, but speeding penalties cost him down the stretch, and he was only able to finish in 12th place as the team’s only driver to finish outside of the top 6. While Busch will likely get into the playoffs even if he does not end up winning a race during the regular season, he has had a frustrating 2017 season thus far. Before this season, he had not failed to win through the first 19 races of a season since 2005.. No. 18. Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota. KYLE BUSCH
