Motorsports TV Schedule for August 16 to 20
By Alex Herbst
IndyCar is back from their August break, while NASCAR begins their weekend a little early at the bullring. Here’s your latest motorsports TV schedule.
The dog days of summer have created some exciting racing, and more of that is on tap for the middle of August. The motorsports TV schedule gets cranked up a little early this week, as NASCAR races around one of their shortest tracks and IndyCar returns from their summer break.
NASCAR has just a few races left before the playoffs begin in September. The weekend starts early for some, with the Camping World Truck Series running their second weeknight race of 2017 on Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. Then it’s the Xfinity Series that takes to the track on Friday night, followed by the big Bristol Night Race for the Cup Series on Saturday.
IndyCar is back from their brief summer break, racing around the tricky triangle at Pocono Raceway. The three corners in the Pocono Mountains will be the final large oval test of the 2017 campaign, with just three races to go following this weekend’s event.
Elsewhere, the NHRA Drag Racing Series is in action from Brainerd, Minnesota, trying to beat the heat in the northern Midwest. In two-wheeled action, the FIM World Superbike Championship races from Germany, while AMA Pro Motocross takes on Budds Creek. Finally, the ARCA Racing Series races on their first dirt track of 2017 in Springfield.
