This weekend, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the paperclip of Martinsville Speedway. Here are five things you will probably see.

The second round of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs is in the books. After Kansas, four drivers were eliminated and only eight remain. The third round begins this weekend at Martinsville, which has produced some pretty unexpected racing.

As a result of last week’s racing at Kansas, Jamie McMurray, Matt Kenseth, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Larson were eliminated from playoff contention. Martin Truex Jr. continues to be the class of the field and the favorite at this point to win the championship. However, there are seven other drivers with different plans.

The Round of 8 will feature three different styles of race tracks to see who advances to Homestead-Miami for the Championship Four. Teams will head to Martinsville this weekend, kick off November in Texas, and conclude the round in Phoenix. All three courses offer a different style of racing sure to bring excitement to the third playoff round.

Above all, the Cup Series is on to the Round of 8. What better place to start than Martinsville Speedway? Martinsville Speedway is known as the “paperclip” for its small stature and tight corners. Here are the five things predicted to happen this weekend in Virginia.
