Martinsville Prediction Wrap-up

The Round of 8 will be sure to bring excitement. Having Martinsville as the race to kick off the third round is a great thing. This Sunday we will see it all. There will be nudging, frustration, grandfather clocks, and more!

More from NASCAR

The main question heading in is will Martin Truex Jr. continue his winning ways and find Victory Lane yet again? It has appeared that Truex Jr. cannot be stopped, however his luck at Martinsville in April could be a sign of what could come for him. Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin come in with 14 combined wins between the two of them at the track. Chances are pretty good that both will be toward the front on Sunday.

The NASCAR Cup Series will head to Texas next week. Unfortunately, for some drivers in the playoffs, there will be a big hole to fill to make the final race in Homestead-Miami. Fans can expect to see Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch to have good days. However, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. will struggle.

Either way, someone will be involved in a wreck that all but ends their playoff hopes after Martinsville. This will bring us to our new heated rivalry. Finally, it is hoped that rain will stay away. However, anything is possible.
