Everything is bigger in Texas, including the pressure to win the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race.

Howdy y’all! It is time to “Talk Texan” – that is, the AAA Texas 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway. If you didn’t know, it’s fixin’ to go down.

With three races left and three spots available to become part of the Championship Four — racing for the NASCAR Cup Championship in Homestead-Miami — we may witness an all-out brawl, Texas style. The news and happenings leading up to the Texas race weekend have been just as crazed as a “Cowboy Speeding Ticket.”

For those late to the rodeo, that’s a 10-second penalty cowboys receive for breaking the barrier too fast when trying to lasso a calf at a roping event. Clearly, this ain’t no rodeo, and there is more at stake than a 10-second penalty. It’s NASCAR. It’s the playoffs.

While everyone is wondering if we will see some type of retaliation from “The People’s Champion,” Chase Elliott, after Denny Hamlin put him into the wall at Martinsville, there are six other drivers looking for the ultimate payback–a spot to race for the Cup Championship in Homestead-Miami. Chase may prove to be “all hat and no cattle,” but any driver who wants to win should be out there racing “madder than a wet hen”.
