NASCAR: Did Tony Stewart hint at an Xfinity Series return?

Did three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart hint at a NASCAR return in the Xfinity Series driving for his own team?
Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart officially retired from full-time Cup Series competition following the conclusion of the 2016 season. But the 46-year-old may not be completely done racing in NASCAR just yet.
During a press conference on Wednesday, November 8th with Aric Almirola, who was just announced as the driver of the #10 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford next season as Danica Patrick’s replacement, the Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner may have hinted about a possible return to NASCAR racing in the form of a few road course races in the Xfinity Series.
Here is what Stewart had to say about racing in the Xfinity Series in the near future.
"“There are actually some road course races that I might be interested in running [in the Xfinity Series]; we’ve discussed it in-house but we don’t have anything near worth announcing. There are some really cool races, especially Charlotte having the road course race next year. I mean there might be some opportunities that might be a little fun for me to come out and dust things off a little bit.”"

Stewart in no way, shape or form intends to return to full-time NASCAR competition in any of the sport’s top three series. However, the fact that he is a co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing, a team that has cars in both the Cup Series and the Xfinity Series, makes it possible that he could make a return to the latter for a few road course races.
Plus, Stewart is a three-time Cup Series champion with 49 career Cup Series victories and 11 career Xfinity Series victories, so it’s not like he would be hopping into one of his own team cars as an owner with absolutely no experience behind the wheel in his career.

Tony Stewart also said that nothing as far as a return goes is even close to being confirmed, so right now it is all still speculation. But it wouldn’t really surprise that many people to see him driving in a NASCAR Xfinity Series race or two in the near future.
