Thanksgiving Awards Wrap-Up

Well, there we have it. The 2017 Thanksgiving awards are in the books. Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners. For those drivers who failed to win an award, I have four words for you: better luck next year.

More from NASCAR

It is very hard to predict in November who will be the best in 2018, but with the amount of changes and new faces in the sport, I feel we fans are in for a big year. Some of the older guys will have to hold off the young and hungry drivers. We are two days removed from the 2017 season and I am already excited about next year’s playoffs. The addition of the “roval” at Charlotte Motor Speedway should be interesting for sure.

My early predictions for some of NASCAR’s top honors are pretty difficult to make. I can see William Byron winning “Rookie of the Year.” Chase Elliott is my pick for “Most Popular Driver” — aka the Dale Earnhardt Jr. award. Lastly, I have to think the #18 Toyota of Kyle Busch will be back on top as series champion next season. In other words, Busch is my pick for the 2018 Turkey Award.
