Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has committed to running two cars in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Electric Race Series, a Formula E support series.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, a full-time IndyCar team co-owned by Bobby Rahal, David Letterman and Mike Lanigan, has committed to running two cars in the new Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Electric Race Series, which is set to be a Formula E support series. The team is the first to commit to joining the series.
According to the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing website, the new series is the first to be based off of a street-legal production battery electric vehicle. It is set to feature 20 cars in races that will take place on the same weekend and on the same street circuits in cities.
The series is set to get going in December of 2018, and James Barclay, the Jaguar Racing Team Director, says he looks forward to building the series up and working to add more teams in addition to working with Bobby Rahal and his team.
