Premium Motorsports’ stats at Daytona

Starts: 7

Wins: 0

Top 5 finishes: 0

Top 10 finishes: 1

Average finish: 24.71

It’s worth noting that Premium Motorsports’ only top 10 finish at the track was with Michael Waltrip behind the wheel. Waltrip is an above average Daytona racer, with are three of his four career victories came at the track.

The second best finish at Daytona for the team was an 11th place result with Cole Whitt driving. Whitt may not be a well-known name, but when put in good equipment, he has performed well in all three NASCAR divisions.

So it could be argued that when an above average driver is placed in the seat, Premium Motorsports have been able to run well at Daytona.

Now, I showed you the stats for Danica at Daytona. Her track record has been spotty, so it’s a toss-up on how her actual skill will help make up for deficiencies in her team’s equipment.

Perhaps with GoDaddy footing the bill for Daytona – a luxury that Premium Motorsports aren’t used to – they’ll be able to dedicate more money and time to the race car for this one race.
