NASCAR: Danica Patrick confirms which race she would rather win
By Asher Fair
When asked if she would rather win the Daytona 500 in NASCAR or the Indianapolis 500 in IndyCar, Danica Patrick did not hesitate.
This Sunday, Danica Patrick is set to drive in the first of two races that make up the “Danica Double” before she officially retires from her professional racing career. She is set to drive the #7 Chevrolet for Premium Motorsports in the Daytona 500, which is set to be her final NASCAR Cup Series race.
Patrick, 35, announced before the end of the 2017 Cup Series season that she would be retiring from her role as a full-time driver following the conclusion of the season but would still return to the sport in 2018 to drive in the Daytona 500. Her ride with Premium Motorsports in the #7 Chevrolet was confirmed last month.
Patrick also announced prior to the end of the 2017 Cup Series season that she would be making her return to IndyCar to drive in the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 this May. She has not driven in the Indianapolis 500 or in any IndyCar race since the 2011 season.

It was confirmed earlier this week that Patrick had strung a deal together for the second race of the “Danica Double”, which is the Indianapolis 500. However, despite being confirmed, details on which team she is set to drive for in this race have not yet been revealed.
While details have been confirmed but not yet released to the public, Patrick both confirmed and released to the public which race of the “Danica Double” she would rather win if she had to choose between the Daytona 500 or the Indianapolis 500.
Here is what Patrick had to say when asked about which of these two great races she would rather win, according to IndyCar.com.
"“Yeah, it would be Indy. There’s nothing against Daytona, but just from being a young little girl, I had always wanted to win the Indy 500. It’s not to say that Daytona is not an enormous deal. But I have to go with what feels like the most important in my heart and I came from open-wheel racing, I wanted to win the Indy 500 from being a go-kart driver when I was a kid and came close a few times. It’s kind of what started it all for me, so there’s just a lot more history there.”"
