The feud between NASCAR Cup Series drivers Denny Hamlin and Darrell Wallace Jr. has reached an all-time low level, particularly because of the former.

Denny Hamlin has reached an all-time low in his feud with fellow NASCAR Cup Series driver Darrell Wallace Jr. that heated up following the conclusion of the 60th annual Daytona 500 last Sunday.

This whole ordeal began when Hamlin, 37, made a comment about 70% of the NASCAR Cup Series drivers using Adderall. When this comment came under fire, or, in his words, was “getting blown up”, he clarified that his remark was only a joke.

Then when Wallace Jr., 24, tried to side draft him for 2nd place in the Daytona 500 coming to the checkered flag, Hamlin ran him up into the wall before later claiming that Wallace Jr. cut one of his tires. Wallace Jr. succeeded in taking 2nd away from him by mere inches, meaning Hamlin had to settle for 3rd.

Following the race, Wallace Jr. poked fun at Hamlin’s Adderall comment and said that he should take some himself following that crazy last-second sequence before the Daytona 500 came to an end. Hamlin did not take kindly to this remark, and the two drivers engaged in a heated discussion as a result before Hamlin went on a Twitter rant about the subject.

In other words, it’s okay for Hamlin to make a joke about most NASCAR Cup Series drivers taking Adderall, but it’s not okay for any jokes about the drug to be directed at him.

Now, Hamlin has kicked Wallace Jr. out of his recreational basketball and golf leagues as a result of this feud. Here is what Hamlin had to say about Wallace Jr. and the fact that he kicked him out of his recreational leagues, according to SB Nation.

"“Those positions have been filled…It just fires me up more to be more motivated. So, I have no issue at all. I’m here to do the best I can to get a good finish and put us in position to do well in the regular season, win some races, get some bonus points. These little bumps in the road are just speed bumps.”"

Here is what Wallace Jr. had to say about the matter, according to NASCAR.com.

"“Both. I’ve been removed from both, although I didn’t get the direct text. It went through like five or six people, so that’s classy, I guess.”"

When asked about whether or not he and Hamlin had had any recent conversations to clear the air, here is how Wallace Jr. responded, according to NASCAR.com.

"“No. Probably not going to.”"

Prior to Hamlin’s Twitter rant on Tuesday, however, here is what Wallace Jr. had to say about the matter, according to NASCAR.com.

"“We’re actually texting each other right now, we’re still not happy. I’m OK, he’s not. We’re racers, and we’ll go to Atlanta and be battling each other…We’ll see how long it takes to officially clear the air.”"
