NASCAR: Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta entry list
By Asher Fair
The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 is the second of 36 races in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. Here is the entry list for the race.
One week after the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season kicked off with the 60th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, the drivers of the sport head to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
Sunday’s race around the 4-turn, 1.54-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway, which has turns banked at 24 degrees and straightaways banked at five degrees, is scheduled for 325 laps.
However, with the overtime format, the race may not be done after 325 laps. As we saw last week, the Daytona 500 was scheduled for 200 laps, but it lasted for 207 laps thanks to a late wreck that sent the race into overtime.

Last year, the Atlanta race, which was held on the first Sunday of March, was done after 325 laps, as it did not go into overtime. However, this has not happened twice in a row at Atlanta since Tony Stewart won the second race at the track in 2010 and Jeff Gordon won the only race at the track in 2011, which was when the track started hosting just one race per season. The odds of it happening again this year look rather slim.
This race was won by Brad Keselowski last year after he started in 5th place despite the fact that polesitter Kevin Harvick led 292 of the race’s 325 laps. Harvick finished the race in 9th. Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne and Chase Elliott rounded out the top 5.
Here is a full entry list for this Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, which is set to feature 36 drivers, a total that is down 10% from the total of 40 drivers in last week’s Daytona 500 and is down 7.7% from last year’s Atlanta race entry total of 39 drivers.
