The Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the third of 36 races in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. Here is the entry list for the race.

The third race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season is set to take place this Sunday, March 4th. The sport’s drivers are set to compete at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada after having competed in Daytona and Atlanta, respectively, to open up the season.

Sunday’s race around the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway tri-oval, which has turns banked at between 12 and 20 degrees, is scheduled for 267 laps.

However, given the overtime format, the race may not be done after 325 laps. As we saw with the Daytona 500, the race was scheduled for 200 laps, but it lasted for 207 laps thanks to a late wreck that sent the race into overtime. That said, last weekend’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 did go the scheduled distance and no longer.

Last year’s Las Vegas race also went the scheduled distance, which was 267 laps for 400.5 miles. In fact, the race has not gone beyond this distance since 2009 when Kyle Busch won it after 285 laps, which comes out to 427.5 miles. However, that happened because the race was scheduled for that particular distance that season. The last time the race was extended beyond its scheduled distances was in 2006 when Jimmie Johnson won the race after 270 laps, which comes out to 405 miles.

The Las Vegas race was won by Martin Truex Jr. last year after he started in 2nd place. He led 150 of the race’s 267 laps en route to the first of his eight victories in the 2017 season, which resulted in him winning his first career Cup Series championship.

Here is a full entry list for this Sunday’s Pennzoil 400, which is set to feature 37 drivers, a total that is up 2.78% from the total of 36 drivers in last week’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 but is down 7.7% from last year’s Las Vegas race entry total of 39 drivers.
