By Asher Fair
With five of the 12 races on the 2017-2018 Formula E schedule in the books, which drivers rank where in the driver power rankings?
Following a one-month break from the Santiago ePrix at the Santiago Street Circuit in Santiago, Chile, the fifth race of the 2017-2018 Formula E season is in the books, leaving seven races before the 2017-2018 champion is officially determined.
Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Daniel Abt gained on the rest of the field with his victory in the Mexico City Grand Prix at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico. He become the fourth different winner in five races so far this season.
As a result, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler became the fourth different team to win a race through five races so far this season as well.
Originally, we were only planning on using our new power rankings formulas to create team and driver power rankings for the NASCAR Cup Series, IndyCar and Formula One. However, we determined that these formulas would also be able to apply to Formula E, so our plan is to continue releasing them after each Formula E race.
These power rankings are based solely on a mathematical formula, which you can see here, and only the sport’s full-time drivers are included in these rankings.
Aside of the “Last Rank” category, only factors that are included in the formula are included in this article. The standings positions listed for each driver reflect each driver’s standings rank among full-time drivers only.
Do make special note of the fact that the “Last Rank” category does not have anything listed in this edition of the rankings as a result of the fact that this is the first time we have released these Formula E Driver Power Rankings. Therefore, there is no “Last Rank” at this point in time.
Without further ado, here are the Formula E Driver Power Rankings after of the Mexico City ePrix at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
