2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule revealed: Looking ahead to next year
By Asher Fair
The 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule has been revealed. Which races at which tracks will be held on which weekends next year?
Only six races on the 36-race 2018 NASCAR Cup Series schedule have been completed, and there are still 20 races to go until the 10-race playoffs begin in the fall.
However, even though April has only just begun, that hasn’t stopped NASCAR officials from looking ahead to the 2019 season.
In fact, the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule was released on Tuesday already. Last year, the schedule for the 2018 season was not released until late May.

There are no changes on next year’s schedule aside of the fact that Easter being three weeks later than it was this year moved the spring races at Texas Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Richmond Raceway earlier by one week each, creating an off weekend between the spring races at Richmond and Talladega Superspeedway as opposed to Martinsville Speedway and Texas.
Other than these three minor changes, every race is scheduled to be held on the same weekend next season as it was or is this season. There will be no racing on Easter weekend, just like there wasn’t this season.
The third weekend in June and the fourth weekend in August are both scheduled to be off-weekends next season like they are scheduled to be this season as well. The order of the 36 races, which are set to take place on 24 different tracks just like they are this season, on next season’s schedule is identical to the order of the races on this year’s schedule.
