Ryan Preece took his first win of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

For the second time in his NASCAR Xfinity Series career, 27-year-old Ryan Preece was victorious on Saturday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee.

Preece won the 2018 Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at the four-turn, 0.533-mile oval in his #18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing in just his third race of the 2018 Xfinity Series season. His other career Xfinity Series victory came last year at Iowa.

Preece drove in just four Xfinity Series races last season and never finished outside of the top 5, and he has yet to finish outside of the top 9 in three races in the series so far this season. He is staking his claim at a potential future full-time ride with one of the series top teams.

The victory for Preece is just the second Xfinity Series victory by a non-Cup Series regular through seven Xfinity Series races so far this season. The only other non-Cup Series regular who has won an Xfinity Series race so far this season is Tyler Reddick, the full-time Xfinity Series driver for JR Motorsports who won at Daytona to open up the season.

The 300-lap Bristol race featured a total of 12 caution flag period for 93 laps, and it featured 13 lead changes among eight different leaders.

Aside of Preece, seven other drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those seven other drivers were Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, Cole Custer, Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell all led at least one lap of the race.

Preece led 39 laps of the race and won the second stage, while Jones led the most laps of any driver in the field with 106 laps led en route to a 6th place finish. Bell won the race’s first stage but finished in 29th after being involved in a crash that took place just before the halfway point of the race.
