The 12th race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season is the KC Masterpiece 400 at Kansas Speedway. Here is the entry list for the race.

The KC Masterpiece 400 is scheduled to take place this Saturday night at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. It is the 12th of 36 races on the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, meaning it marks the one-third mark of the season.

Saturday night’s race is scheduled for 267 laps (400.5 miles) around the four-turn, 1.5-mile tri-oval. It is the fourth of 11 races this season that are set to take place on a 1.5-mile oval, and it is the first of such races since the race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 8.

A total of 39 drivers are entered into the KC Masterpiece 400, although one of those drivers, the driver of the #51 Ford for Rick Ware Racing, has still not yet officially been named. Only three other races so far this season have featured 39 or more drivers.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The only two races that have featured more than 39 drivers so far this season were the restrictor plate races at Daytona International Speedway to open up the season and at Talladega Superspeedway just over one week ago. The other race that featured 39 drivers was at Bristol Motor Speedway several weeks ago.

While the field size of 39 is large compared to what the field size has been in other races so far this season, this is the first time ever that a Cup Series race at Kansas has not had a full field. From the 2001 season to the 2015 season, all 20 of the races at the track featured 43 drivers.

Since the field limit decreased to 40 drivers in the 2016 season, there have been 40 drivers in each of the four races at Kansas. The driver total is set to be an all-time low for a Cup Series race at Kansas since the series started coming to the track back in the 2001 season.
