Parker Kligerman is set to drive in his first NASCAR Cup Series race since the 2014 season for Gaunt Brothers Racing in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day Sunday.

Parker Kligerman, 27, has not driven in the NASCAR Cup Series since he drove eight races in the #30 Swan Racing Toyota at the start of the 2014 season. However, that is set to change in just a few weeks.

Kligerman is set to make his return to the Cup Series driving the #96 Gaunt Brothers Racing Toyota in the 2018 Coca-Cola 600 at the four-turn, 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway quad oval in Concord, North Carolina.

Here is what Kligerman had to say about the opportunity to return to the Cup Series more than four years after he last drove in it, according to Motorsport.com.

"“I’ve known [Gaunt Brothers Racing owner] Marty [Gaunt] a long time and have a tremendous amount of respect for his passion and professionalism. I want to help him take GBR to the next level. I’m appreciative of the opportunity and am thrilled someone with his stature recognized and rewarded my effort last year in Trucks. I’m looking forward to driving in the sport’s longest event. It will certainly be challenging, but I’m confident in the team’s plans for the Charlotte race weekend.”"

Kligerman currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Henderson Motorsports in the #75 Chevrolet. Through three races so far this season, his top finish is an 11th place effort at Atlanta.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The 27-year-old last had a full-time ride in the Truck Series in the 2012 season when he drove for Brad Keselowski Racing in the #29 RAM and for Red Horse Racing in the #7 Toyota. He finished in fifth place in the championship standings after a 22-race season during which he racked up 15 top 10 finishes and eight top five finishes, including a win at Talladega. His most recent and only other Truck Series win also came at Talladega last season when he drove the #75 Henderson Motorsports Toyota as a part-time driver.

Kligerman also competed full-time in the Xfinity Series back in the 2013 season when he drove for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the #77 Toyota. He racked up 13 top 10 finishes and three top five finishes, including a career-high third place finish at Road America, en route to a ninth place finish in the championship standings.
