Kyle Busch dominated the 13th race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Coca-Cola 600, for his first Cup Series win in a points race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch dominated the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway en route to taking his fourth victory through 13 races so far in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. Busch has now won four of the last seven Cup Series races.

Busch, who started the race from the pole position, led 377 of the race’s 400 laps around the four-turn, 1.5-mile quad oval in Concord, North Carolina in his #18 Toyota en route to his dominant victory, which was the 47th of his Cup Series career but only the first of his Cup Series career in a points race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He won the All-Star race at the track last season.

Busch, who swept the race by winning the first three stages and the race itself, led a 1-2-3 Toyota sweep. He held off Furniture Row Racing’s Martin Truex Jr. in his #78 Toyota in second place by 3.823 seconds, and his teammate Denny Hamlin finished in third in his #11 Toyota.

Brad Keselowski was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race, as he finished in fourth place in his #2 Team Penske Ford. Jimmie Johnson was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver of the race, as he finished in fifth in his #48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

The race also featured 11 caution flag periods, of which eight were related to on-track incidents and three came as a result of the endings of the race’s first three stages, for 54 laps.

Of the 40 drivers who started the race, 35 finished it, and of the 35 drivers who finished it, nine finished it on the lead lap. The five drivers who failed to finish the race were Kevin Harvick, William Byron, J.J. Yeley, Matt DiBenedetto and Ryan Blaney.
