How do the 20 full-time IndyCar drivers stack up against one another following the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500?

In his 11th career Indianapolis 500 attempt, Team Penske’s Will Power was finally able to go to victory lane after winning the 102nd running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” at the four-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

Power won the race after leading 59 of its 200 laps, which was the second highest laps led total among all drivers in the field and the highest laps led total of the full-time drivers in the field by far.

Only part-time driver Ed Carpenter, who owns Ed Carpenter Racing and drives only in the oval races, led more laps than Power did in the Indy 500. Carpenter led 65 of the race’s 200 laps after starting from the pole position.

A.J. Foyt Enterprises’ Tony Kanaan, who ended up crashing out of the race with 13 laps to go and finishing in 25th place, led 19 laps, which was the laps led total that was closest to Power’s laps led total among the full-time drivers in the field.

After a rocky start to the 2018 IndyCar season, Power finds himself leading the championship standings as a result of the fact that double points were awarded in the Indy 500 as well as the fact that he has now won two races in a row, as he won the IndyCar Grand Prix at the 13-turn, 2.439-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course just over two weeks before he won the Indy 500.

How did the action from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval affect the IndyCar Driver Power Rankings? Here are the formulated IndyCar Driver Power Rankings and the non-formulated IndyCar Driver Power Rankings following this year’s running of the Indy 500.
