#4 – Matt Kenseth scores season-high finish

Matt Kenseth will be making his fourth consecutive start this weekend at Michigan. Kenseth will be entering a familiar place on Sunday. The 2003 NASCAR Cup Series champion has 37 prior starts in the Irish Hills, making him of the most experienced drivers at the two-mile facility.

In addition to experience, Kenseth has also had success. In his 37 starts, Kenseth has won three races at Michigan and finished in the top 10 a total of 20 times in 19 season. In fact, Kenseth’s average finish at the track is 10.76.

With all the evidence on the table, I am going to take a risk and predict “Matty Ice” scores his best finish of the season on Sunday. Of course, his Michigan success will come in to play, but Kenseth has also progressed in his three other starts this season.

We all knew it would take time for him to get back in the swing of things, and if he can finish in 12th place or higher, he’ll secure his best finish of the season before handing the keys of the #6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford back to Trevor Bayne in the coming weeks.

Overall, the #6 team will have the cards stacked against them on Sunday, but Roush Fenway Racing have the perfect driver behind the wheel to secure a top 15 finish. This weekend’s race is the FireKeepers Casino 400, so if you need a mid-pack driver to bet on, trust in Matt Kenseth.
