How do the Formula E driver standings, team standings and win droughts look following the 10th race of the 2017-2018 season?
Heading into the 10th of 12 races on the 2017-2018 Formula E schedule, the Julius Baer Zürich ePrix, Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne held a 40-point lead over DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird in the championship standings.
But with an opportunity to seal the 2017-2018 Formula E championship with only the two races of the New York ePrix left on the schedule, Vergne instead finds himself in a position where he could very well be under attack by Bird in the final two races of the season.
Bird finished the Zürich ePrix around the 11-turn, 1.529-mile (2.460-kilometer) Zürich Street Circuit in Zürich, Switzerland in second place behind Audi Sport ABT Schaffler’s Lucas di Grassi, who had not won a race since the first race of last season’s Montreal ePrix, and scored 18 points in doing so, while Vergne was only able to finish in 10th.
Vergne’s 10th place finish is his new season-worst finish by far, as it is his first finish outside of the top five since the second race of last season’s New York ePrix. He scored just one point as a result of his 10th place finish.

As a result of the results of these two drivers in Zürich, Bird nearly cut Vergne’s lead in the championship standings in half. The gap between the two drivers before the Zürich ePrix was 40 points, but now it is just 23 points.
Given the fact that Bird won both races of the New York ePrix last season, the championship battle appears to be shaping up to be a close one despite the fact that it looked like Vergne would run away with it and perhaps even secure the title in Zürich.
Here are the updated Formula E driver standings and Formula E team standings following the 2018 Zürich ePrix at the Zürich Street Circuit in Zürich, Switzerland.
