How did Stewart-Haas Racing’s seventh victory of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season affect how the sport’s 16 full-time teams stack up against one another?

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Clint Bowyer won for the second time in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. He did so in a rain-shortened FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Bowyer’s victory in the 133-lap race, which was scheduled to be a 200-lap race, around the four-turn, 2.0-mile Michigan International Speedway oval delivered Stewart-Haas Racing their seventh victory in 15 races so far in the 2018 season, allowing them to extend their lead in the wins category.

Only five teams have accounted for the 15 race wins so far this season. Only three of those teams have won multiple races. The other two teams aside of Stewart-Haas Racing that have won multiple races this season have a combined win total of six, which still does not match the win total of Stewart-Haas Racing.

Heading into the FireKeepers Casino 400, Stewart-Haas Racing were the only team that had more than one of their drivers win at least one race so far this season. Kevin Harvick entered the race with five victories while Bowyer entered with one.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

All four of Joe Gibbs Racing’s victories were recorded by Kyle Busch, both of Furniture Row Racing’s victories were recorded by defending champion Martin Truex Jr., and Team Penske’s Joey Logano and Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon each won a race.

Because Bowyer won at Michigan International Speedway, Stewart-Haas Racing became the first team to have multiple drivers win multiple races in the 2018 season. Only Joe Gibbs Racing did that throughout all of last season, and they did not do that until the penultimate race of the regular season at Darlington Raceway. That race was the 25th race of the 36-race season.

How did Bowyer’s victory and the rest of the action from the 2018 FireKeepers Casino 400 affect the NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings? Here are the formulated NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings and the non-formulated NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings following the race at Michigan International Speedway.
