Kyle Larson

Of all of the drivers without a win this season, Kyle Larson is one of the names that is most surprising. Similarly to Bard Keselowski, Larson has yet to win this year despite having a car that could have won on several different occasions. Kentucky Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway are very similar and we all know how the race at Chicagoland ended.

Larson came up just short of victory lane at Chicagoland after a heated back-and-forth battle with Kyle Busch. This weekend, it is likely that we will see the same strategy from Larson that we have always seen from him.

Chances are very good that Kyle Larson will be so close to the wall in the turns that if you added a layer of paint to his car he’d be hitting  it. He’s all but mastered running the high line and it will be interesting to see if he can translate that into a win on Saturday.

It’s important to note that in 2017, Larson was the runner-up to Martin Truex Jr. at Kentucky. A win of course, would lock Larson into the playoffs, which he is likely headed to anyway. However, as I always mention, he is not guaranteed to get in on points and if a few more upsets happen, he could find himself on the outside looking in.
