Ben Rhodes earned his first victory of the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season in the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway.

ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes earned his first victory of the 23-race 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season in the season’s 12th race, the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway. The victory is the second of his Truck Series career, as he also won last season’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Rhodes led 38 laps of the 125-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky en route to his victory, which was the first victory for a ThorSport Racing driver as well as the first victory for a Ford driver so far this season. Chevrolet drivers earned six victories in the first 11 races of the season while Toyota drivers earned the other five.

Rhodes won the race in his #41 Ford by 0.922 seconds over Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen, who was the race’s highest finishing Chevrolet driver in second place in his #52 Chevrolet. Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Brandon Jones was the race’s highest finishing Toyota driver in fourth in his #51 Toyota. ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton finished in third in his #88 Ford.

The race featured a total of 11 lead changes among five drivers. Aside of Rhodes, a total of four drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Friesen, Todd Gilliland, race polesitter Noah Gragson and Parker Kligerman. Gragson led more laps than anybody else in the field, as he ended up with 62 laps led en route to an eighth place finish in his #18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota.

The race also featured a total of three caution flag periods for 14 laps. Only one of those caution flag periods took place as a result of an on-track incident, as the other two took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two.

Of the 32 drivers who started the race, 26 finished it, which is a pretty high amount for a Truck Series race but makes complete sense seeing as the how the race featured just one incident-related caution flag period. Of the 26 drivers who finished the race, 10 managed to do so on the lead lap.
