Blake Jones is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in this Sunday’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway driving for BK Racing.

Sevierville, Tennessee native Blake Jones is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in this Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Jones, 21, is set to drive the #23 BK Racing Toyota, which was previously driven full-time by Gray Gaulding this season, in the 301-lap race around the four-turn, 1.058-mile (1.703-kilometer) New Hampshire Motor Speedway oval in Loudon, New Hampshire.

Jones has next to no NASCAR experience across any series. He has made just three starts in the K&N Pro Series East over two seasons, the 2012 and 2013 season, and he has made just five starts in the Xfinity Series over two seasons, the 2016 and 2018 season.

The most experience that Jones has in a major series is in the ARCA Racing Series. Over two seasons, the 2015 and 2016 season, there, he has made a total of seven starts.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Of the three series in which Jones has competed in on a very limited basis, he has had the most success competing in the ARCA Racing Series. In seven races, he never finished outside of the top 19, and he racked up four top 10 finishes, two top five finishes and one win at Talladega Superspeedway in the 2015 when he was driving the #22 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge.

Jones’s career-high finish in the K&N Pro Series East is a 23rd place finish, which he recorded as the driver of the #80 Teddy Jones Racing Chevrolet in the 2012 season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Jones’s career-high finish in the Xfinity Series is a 24th place finish, which he recorded as the driver of the #8 B.J. McLeod Motorsports Chevrolet earlier this season at Chicagoland Speedway.

Given the fact that Jones does not have much experience in any kind of major NASCAR series or any kind of major racing series, it is hard to expect him to do much in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, especially since he is set to drive the #23 Toyota for the underfunded BK Racing team.

A top 30 finish this weekend would seem to be like a win for the 21-year-old. Maybe growing up just down the road from NASCAR SpeedPark will play to his advantage.
